Bahamian Artist Bio
JOAN MANN
Joan Mann first came to the Bahamas in the early 1960's. Like many people before and since, she was immediately captivated by the colors of the sea and the sky, and the beauty of the Exuma Cays. Her watercolors and acrylics share this beauty with the viewer. One of her goals is to paint the daily life as it exists in a small Bahamian settlement, on a small Bahamian Island. A lifestyle that is rapidly disappearing as the age of A.C., TV, cell phones and facsimiles takes over.
Joan's background includes the Portland School of Fine Art, the University of California - Los Angeles, the Instituto de Allende, and workshops in Maine, Florida and California.
Her work can be seen in galleries in Key West and Cedar Key, Florida, Harbour Island, Nassau and Staniel Cay, Exumas, The Bahamas.
