Bahamian born Artist, Eric Ellis a native of Steventon, Exuma, held his first One-Man show at the Jumbey Village Art Gallery in 1983. In 1981, he won a bronze medal in an Art Contest held in Japan and received certificates of honour, merit and distinction from The National Arts and Craft Festival. He participated in The Commonwealth Fair Art Exhibition, Woman ’84, Man Alive, Goombay Summer Art Exhibition and The Central Bank Art Competition and Exhibition from 1984. In 1984, he won the Youth Award for being the most outstanding youth in culture in that year. In 1988, he won honourable mention in The Central Bank Art Exhibiion and in 1989, he won a scholarship from The Central Bank’s Art Exhibition and Competition. His works was exhibited by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Haiti along with works of other Bahamian Artists.
